In March 1964, the publisher of The Times of India, Bennet, Coleman & Co., launched a new series of comics named 'Indrajal Comics' featuring Lee Falk's 'The Phantom', Lee Falk's 'Mandrake', Alex Raymond's 'Flash Gordon', 'Rip Kirby' and 'othe King Features characters. Due to The Phantom's connection to India, many of the names were changed to be more politically appropriate.The publishers decided to cancel the magazine entirely in the 27th year of production.
